Last weekend

So, I'm about caught up. Last weekend, I flew out of the village and over to Homer, drove the 70 or so miles up to Best Truck in Kenai to pick up the coach. I had rented covered storage to help keep the coach out of the weather but the past two months it has sat in the weather at Best Truck, not smart on my part. When I called to let them know that I was coming to pick up the coach and would need to have them bring it around front they agreed. A day or so later I got a call from them saying the coach would not start, nothing from the batteries. I told them to check the store/use switch at the door and to use the Aux. Start switch if needed but alas they had left the switch in the use position and drained my new batteries to nothing, they froze and would need replacing. 800 bucks out the door before I even got the coach started. I picked up the coach went to my nearest Wal-Mart and got setup for the night. I decided to check on the batteries and what did I see? The coach batteries were the original Tampa-Bay batteries. I called the tech and let him know they did not put my batteries in. To his credit he did pack up the wife and baby went by the store to pick up the new batteries and came out and installed them. I appreciated that alot.
My biggest fear was that I had not done all I could do to winterize the water lines. I blew them out with air just like the manual says but I overlooked a few things, like the washing machine and the under sink water filter. I did not know there was a filter there, just found it while looking to see if any of the pex pipes were broken and found it, the filter was cracked so I removed it and ordered a new one. After two days of heat I ran the washing machine on spin, I'm not sure if that did anything or not. A couple of months earlier when I was in the motorhome I stepped on the toilet pedal and heard what I thought was a crack, I've been worried that I may have broken something but after this weekend I think it is fine. I poured about 3 gallons of RV antifreeze into the fresh water tank but couldn't get anything to come out the spigots. The water pump is working as air was blowing out of the faucets, just not enough rv antifreeze, I managed to drain the antifreeze out of the tank when temps were above freezing. On second thought I wish I had not poured anything into the fresh water tank, now I'll have to get that taste out. Lesson learned.
I bought a new 43 inch tv, hoping the wife doesn't notice the difference. I also replaced the box of buttons and dvd player with a new audio/video receiver and blu-ray player. Steering was really hard, when I lift the coach on jacks I can turn the wheel fairly easy but down on the ground not so much. I think the power steering pump is failing. I bought two pumps, one new and one used. When I go back over I will replace the pump with the new one and keep the used one as a backup and discard the current one on the coach.
Originally the coach was in the shop to replace the AC lines, however after a lot of thought I decided to try and tackle it myself in a few months. We run the roof AC anyway so I couldn't see spending 3,000 dollars on two hoses, the quote was 2800 bucks! I think I can build the hoses for 300 or less.
I'm now concerned about my Michelin tires, they have slight cracking on the sidewall. That will be the next thing to tackle I guess.
