Update: We Moved Indoors -- 3/31/19
During a recent online surfing session, I saw a sidebar ad for indoor RV storage in my area. Still smarting from our more recent storage woes and winter weather (see previous posts), I decided it was worth a further look.
So I called: Duplex Indoor Storage in Sycamore, Illinois. They're located in what had been a large printing and warehouse facility about 40 miles from our home. (Coincidentally that's about 1/2 way to our favorite RV mechanical service provider: Scott's Truck and RV Service in Rockford )
Duplex features a large, amazingly clean, climate controlled facility for storing not only RV's, but also boats, cars, motorcycles and what-not.
I will admit that's a lot less convenient than the nearby outdoor storage lot we've used for our rigs for the last 6 years. BUT IT'S INDOORS! And the price wasn't that much more than what we are paying now. AND IT'S INDOORS!
We decided that the added protection of indoor storage for our NewAire Classic was worth the inconvenience of the added distance. No more ad hoc visits, and we'll have to preplan any driveway projects (we're already set for two weeks in June). That said, the very friendly folks at Duplex offer easy in or out; they only ask for 24 hours notice either way.
We signed a one year lease and moved right in!
