My first blog on being a 1/2 timer

Posted 05-11-2009 at 10:01 AM by trickto322

I was reading the forum and someone said they did not realize they had a blog neither did I.
So here goes my first "blog". I don't know who is going to read this.
My husband and I are what I call "Half timers" six months out and six months at the house. I said house rather than home because I consider the RV home. I found that when you are at a park the amount of activities are plentiful. The parks do that to make it appealing, which works for us. However, when you have a "home base" there is no one there to offer "thing to do". You have to set it up for yourself which is not always easy. We don't have and ocean close by or a nice riding path, etc. so here lies my challange. My husband is very flexible, he will do what ever makes me happy (what a guy). I have to do some reseach to see what is abailable

When at your home base is there a senior citizens center nearby? I've found that they offer numerous things to do, and they welcome newcomers. Do you have any hobbies? My RV is home, and sometimes, like now, I am far from towns, beaches, riding paths, etc.; so, I entertain myself with making beaded jewelry, embroidery, keeping up with friends and famiy on the computer, blogging, walking with the dog and picking up beautiful, unusual rocks, reading(whenever I stop in an RV park, I always use their book exchange), bird-watching.

Good luck with your blogging. I find that when I start writing, things just come out my fingers onto the keyboard and fill the blog page. I love to find comments on my blogs, but no one seems to do that.

    Anyway, keep on.
