Well we have a holiday now with the government shut down. First time I have been laid off from a non-paying job.
The National Wildlife Refuge is closed to the public. The refuge manager and one other law enforcement officer are considered essential personnel and are here. Everyone else is furloughed for now. We get to keep our site here and are now allowed to do any work on the refuge. We have a gate key and come and go as we please.
At least anther host couple came in before the shutdown, so we do have some company back here now.
The coat hanging nook on the trailer now has a nice set of door mounted and shelves installed. Now I need to take it all back out and stain it all and then a couple of coats of varnish.
This are will be an extension to the pantry and spice rack. Susan will be a lot happier getting to her spices.
We had a "frog strangle" the other evening...you could hear the frogs croaking.... The temperatures are dropping now and things are getting more tolerable. The trees are starting to turn a bit now.
