05 Vectra Awning replacement costs

I have an 05 Vectra 40AD with, I think, a Dometic Weather Pro side awning that has started to rip at the aft end, where there is a seam about a half foot from the coach when the awning is fully extended. Had our mobile repair guy look at it (who has done good and reasonable work in the past) and he says the canvass alone will be $800 bucks, plus the labor to disassemble and install the new canvass. Does this sound reasonable? We could probably have the small rip repaired by a person in our park who does canvass work, but that still means disassembly and re-assembly ( the awning is now off track) and with no gtd it won't rip again I am leaning towards the replacement. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had this work done on their coach.

$800 sounds about right for the sunbrella (acrylic) fabric for that awning. You can call A&E Dometic and find authorized dealers in your area. They can order the replacement fabric. Camping World sells A&E and will install.
