12 Volt electrical Nightmare

A while back someone posted that the 12 volt electrical compartment where the solenoids are located had leaked on his MH. I thought ours was OK but sealed what I could anyways, unfortunately I did not remove the face panel to check for water. A few days ago I removed all the batteries to clean the battery box and coat it with undercoating. After installing the batteries today strange things began to happen, the solenoids would not work and then one would, the radio started going on and off and the 12 volt lights dimmed. I pulled the panel in the compartment behind the drivers wheel and and found about 3/8" of water sitting in the compartment. I jiggled a few wires and some came apart in my hand at the harness connections. The harnesses had been sitting in the water all this time and corroded to the point 6 connections literally fell apart. You could see the bluish green color of the water from the corroded copper.
After running to the parts store for waterproof connectors and a few hours I got it all back and for the time being all is working except I cannot shut off the coach power even though the solenoid clicks, I am assuming that is because I now have the shore power connected to charge the house batteries as they were pretty well drawn down due to the connections sitting in water.
What a mess.....the harness connections were not made for wet conditions and are something you would find in an interior location....way to go WB.

I broke an end off a wire today.... (Or was it yesterday) well, when I pulled the wire.. I won't tell you exactly what I found but let's just say it's a good thing I broke it when I did.

Bad wire. This is a 200 amp inverter cable.
