2000 Itasca Suncruser Charging House batteries?

I have a V-10 and notice the house batteries do not charge while Engine is running. Dose my unit have such a system? Is it not working or did this rig not have this ability?

It will have a system to charge the house batteries from the engine.

Look for a solenoid with large cables leading to both battery banks.

It may be the same one that activates when you hit the boost button. Hit the switch and listen for the "clunk". Even if it "clunks", it may not be connecting internally.

They fail all of the time. Check by reading volts on both sides of the big terminals with the engine running. It should be the same volts if working.

I'm sure, someone here, will give you the exact location of the solenoid.

Good luck.

If you go to the Winnebago website you can select "resources" at the top of the page. From there you can download the wiring (and plumbing, etc) diagrams for your year, make and model MH. It appears you have a dual solenoids system. My guess the solenoid with the 3 terminals is bad. I believe NAPA auto parts has an equivalent. Their P/N is ST95, which should replace the Trombetta you currently have.

our 2000 Itasca Suncruiser 35U had that system. if I recall correctly there is a charging diode on the alternator that has likely failed.
