2002 Brave renovation or upgrade

We had plans to trade our motorhome in on a newer model. Our motorhome runs great and is paid for. So we are considering renovating the one we have, it has the ford V10 that does not use any oil between changes and only has about 45K on it. We would install new furniture, flooring, repair bedroom slide guide blocks, reseal windows, repair generator or purchase a new one, add hot water on demand system and add new steering tires, rear tires still have 3 years of use before they need replaces by the 7 year rule. I have resealed the roof already. We use it about 6 to 7 months out of the year, we are both retired.

I am going to have to replace my plastic guide blocks on my HWH bedroom slide. Has anybody here had this done or done it yourself? If so could you give me a ballpark cost of having it done or cost of doing it yourself, whichever way you had it done? I took it in to an RV repair shop in New Orleans when we left our motorhome at storage on the first of July to get an estimate for all work we needed done and they have never got back with me. Tried to call them yesterday and today. Nobody answered the phone, so I left a message for them to call me back. Also if you know of any videos of this repair could you point me in the right direction to find them? I have searched you tube and everywhere trying to find a repair video of the bedroom slide with no luck. There is one of the living room slide replacement of the guide blocks but a different animal then the bedroom slide.

Also has anybody used vinyl plank flooring to replace the carpet in the living room, kitchen and bathroom? I was told you must glue the vinyl planks down and also told you must glue down only the first row by the slide by a different person, but the instructions say not to glue it down. Also I was told that the slide out will scratch the vinyl plank, but it looks like to me there is enough room that is should not scratch the flooring. I don't want to spend a grand on material if it is going to be scratched.

Sorry for the long winded post just want to get all the info I can, so we can make the right decision on renovation or upgrade.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance for the replies

Does your hwh slide have level out, where the slide comes out then down or is it just a straight ram.

Mine are straight out and very easy to replace. Done a few times now

Nobody else has replaced the guide blocks on a HWH bedroom slideout system? Also looking for a Heavy Duty Truck repair shop for tires and alignment in the New Orleans area? I have searched and searched the area with no luck. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
