2003 Journey True air thermostat
How many of you have had to replace this thermostat? And what did you use? This is for the under body AC/Heat pump and also controls the gas heater. I have found that originals are unobtanium in my number so I bought a Chinese replacement. Yea, you can guess how that went. It would not run the electric heat at all and ran the gas heat on the electric heat setting. The wires were all the right colors in all the right places on the plug.

I would contact Airxcel and ask if the model 6536A3351 listed on Amazon would work. The plugouts seem the same, have your sub base P/N handy when you ask.

I did contact them and they told me that they have a new supplier of thermostats but they do not have any of this model yet but she did send me to Micro-air who does have a digital replacement. A bit pricey at 280.00 though. I have a second Chinese one coming in from Amazon, if that does not work I will bite the bullet and get the digital one. It does stuff I will never use. Bluetooth and wifi. You can change your settings from the internet! Sorry, I do not have enough faith in 23 year old heaters and AC units to be changing things if I am not there.

This is the thermostat # I replaced the original with they come in white or black; my original 'stat still works as designed, but DW wanted a digital readout.
My original 'stat can be purchased cheap, I just kept it for a spare JIC. My RVP basement unit is a model 6535, but that new one fits them all.

I went with the Micro-air a few years back. Original still worked but its range of kick on an off was broad. I was often changing the set temperature manually. The Micro-air is pricy but works much better. I don't do much remotely except monitor the inside temperature. I do use the Bluetooth connectivity inside to check the temp and make changes while in bed or sitting up front. I would buy again.

We went to the microair in April. A huge game changer. I can now adjust from the bed, the couch or even outside with either the bluetooth or wifi. EZ to install, would never go back, worth every penny.

I had the same problem with m previous coach. The only place I could find anything was Lichtin RV in Forest City. I ended up getting the coach sold before I got it done and discounted the price, so I don't know if it ever got fixed or not.
Every one I looked at, at the time was out of stock.

Some of the new stats need to be programmed for the type of units they control. You may need to go into the settings and program the parameters. This is for the type of unit and what and when it controls them. Parameters are type of AC, Type of unit, (Heat Pump), Electric heat and the Gas heat as the 2nd stage "EM" heat. I have had to do this to many new stats that I have installed. I have had similar issues until my AC tech showed me what to do. Read the directions that came with it.

Well, I bit the bullet and bought the digital thermostat. I did manage to get my old one to work enough to tell me that the heat pump is working just fine so that verified the Chinese units simply do NOT work with a heat pump regardless of whether they say they do or not. It is getting cold and I need the heat to work.
