2007 Vista plumbing routing.

My Vista has a problem. When connected to city water, no water will come out of the faucets unless the pump is turned on. According to the op manual when connected to city water it should bypass the pump altogether. Evidently mine has been altered by PO. I know there is no water strainer at the pump like the diagrams show and there is an extra clear poly line "T"d in to the pump intake line just past the connection at the tank. This line is connected to nothing on the other end but does not leak water pump on or off. I am assuming that there is a check valve in the T that keeps this from leaking. But where is it supposed to be connected?? I could just run another line over to the service center to hook to the city water and T it in past the pump and call it done, but that is not how the factory did it and I will have two city connections instead of one. Anybody got an Idea? Thanks!!

On our 2007 Ellipse there is a selector valve in the wet bay which can be set to either "tank fill" or "normal". If your Vista has such a valve it may be bad, allowing water to flow only to the fresh water tank, and from there through the water pump into the coach. The tube that is "T"d in" to the line between the water tank and the pump is the suction line for pulling in RV anti freeze for winterizing your coach.

At your water inlet where the water is connected is a check valve that ensures no water can flow in reverse out the city water supply line. If unused (or jammed?) for a long time they can seize up and not allow water into your rig. By taking off the city water connection you can look in there, and use a small dull object to push in there to ensure the inside flap can still move.

I have to ask, when connected to Potable Water does the Potable water tank fill up with water?
As someone stated there is a valve that should be labeled, Fill, Potable( something like that). Verify what position it is in. Fill or the other one. Also as stated by someone else, check the back flow preventer that is on the panel backside, it may be stuck shut.
