Glenda,

What's the latest nose count of GNR attendees?

We have decided to stop at the Iowa State Rally on the way to Forest City.

Kinda itchy to get "on the road again!"

See ya'll there!

Hi Ding-a-ling,

Right now we have 115 give or take a few. I know a few have said they decided not to go due to fuel prices, but I know we will have at least that many. Probably more once the word gets out at GNR. We will be arriving the Thurs. before so I hope to have some time to organize. It looks like we will be having a bring a snack to share and your own "beverage" of choice party. I am going to be in touch with the folks at FC to see where they want to put this group! I hope to have some more info on the location by next week.

I know what you mean about "itchin" to get on the road. We have been on a few really nice camp outs with our club, but not enough. Of course my DH still works full time so we go as much as we can. We talked tonight about when he is finally going to REALLY retire! Our son will graduate next year from VT so I think that is his target date. Just had the Pressure Pro tire monitors put on this weekend, so we are ready to roll! See you there.

Unfortunately for us family issues, scheduling conflicts with fuel costs as the straw that broke the camel's back have forced us to cancel our plans to go to GNR (and two other rallies as well). We feel very sad missing this opportunity to meet everybody.

We are new to this forum and will be attending our first GNR this year, coming from Michigan. Heard about you on the Yahoo Aspect-Cambria user group. We belong to the Yahoo winnebago-owners user group as well.

I'm wondering if I'll walk out the door of our Aspect and not see sunlight because I'm surrounded by 40' Ultimate Advantage's, Vectra's & Horizon's.

Don't worry, there will be lots of sunshine to go around. We live in VA, but will be coming to GNR via MI from visiting with my husbands family in Lansing. I have added you to our "growing" list of attendees.

If your stopping in Lansing on your way to GNR, you will be about 50 miles from us. We live in the Brighton area southeast of I96 and US23.

Don and I will be attending our 5th GNR this year and look forward to meeting irv2 folks. We haven't been very active on this site of late as we keep very busy with WIT. I'm the AZ State Treasurer and Don is the State president.
We invite all to visit us in the AZ row.

Since GNR is just around the corner, I wanted to post an update. I have been in touch with the folks at Winnebago and gave them the latest head count...which is 125! They will be getting back to me soon to tell me where would be the best location to set this "party" up. Right now I am thinking that Monday, the 21st would be the best date. It will probably be in one of the large tents, after the seminars are over and before the evening entertainment. It thought we would ask each coach to bring a snack to share and your own "beverage of choice". We will not be checking ID's, so if it's alcohol you're safe! As soon as I have all the information, I will post it right away. We will be arriving on the Thursday before and be parked in the Virginia row. Look for the Vectra with the irv2 banner if you have any questions. I'll be back soon with another update.

Glenda - we are on-track to arrive about July 10 or 11. Let me know if you need anything done before you arrive.

I think we should have a special sticky thread for communication and meet/greet during the rally other than the "Rollcall" thread.

Thanks Johm, and I will let you know as soon as I have the time and place confirmed. I think it is a good idea to have an info thread while at the rally. Maybe since you will be there early, you can start it so as folks arrive they can sign in and if they have any questions post them there. I have been told that there will be WiFi at the rally grounds this year and you won't need to go to the "computer" area to get on line.

John and Glenda, my group will be arriving Sun 13th. I will probably be looking for things to do so let me know if I can help. I will be in Sec E.

Now I have a question for all you experienced GNR types. When it says "bring wood" what are the dimensions and how much do folks bring?

John, all you or Glenda need to do is let me or one of the Winnebago moderators know when you want this up and we'll get it done.

Thanks for the offer Maverick. You want to have wood for under your jacks if you are on an unlevel site. We have been very lucky in the past and only needed it under the jacks for so they wouldn't sink in if we had a lot of rain. We get a 2x10 and cut it into 2 foot sections. Then we drill holes in the ends and put some nylon rope to make a handle. That makes it easy to pull them out when your ready to leave. We just cut 4 pieces to replace a couple that finally split after a couple of years use.
