Well ---- how long can it keep it up. Been driving in Tow/Haul mode. In NC mtns couple of weeks ago with 7 and 8% grades. It really helped downhill to save the brakes, but this Florida boy was hoping it wouldn't blow up. Uphill on those kind of grades was similar and hitting max of 35 mph. This is an Adventurer 37F, pulling a CR-V (prob. 3500# max). Have a BIG trip planned out west next year (Yellowstone, Tetons, Moab.... etc.) and have concerns.

4500 to 5000 RPMs in both of my Ford V10 RVs for years.
No load max RPM is 5200.

You cars do that to, they are better insulated and smaller.

Your other option is to go real slow.

I let it go to 5000 rpm in the mountains before braking. It seems to do better in slowing the Rv at the higher rpms.

This is why people like diesels.

It wouldn't bother me going down, but even there a diesel with an exhaust brake would probably be better. But going down the engine isn't working as hard at 4,500 rpms as it is going up at 4,500 rpms.

Going up I would just go the speed/rpm you're comfortable with, particularly on multi-lane roads.

Look into a 5 Star tune and it will help. Also don't try to do 70mph up the hills. Let it drop and gear or two and just "Keep on RV'ing" Enjoy the view while you can.

A " Tune " isn't going to lower the RPMs on a 7 to 8 % grade.

Try the " Ford V10 Ultra RV Tune" by Ultra RV Product.com". Did try 5 Star
tuning for 7 years and found they don't have the top speed(disappointed) I needed that's why I switch to this new tuned. Liking and loving it. Try it.

Had a Chevy. Up hill at 28 mph. Screaming. They are actually designed to do this. Does not hurt the drive train. Turn the radio up and enjoy the vistas

It's what they do and where they make their max hp.
Stay on top of maintenance with quality oil changes and drive it.
They are a good motor and should outlast everything else on your mh, with proper care being the key.
BTW, we installed a very good sound system in our old Winnie for this very reason. Crank it up and happy camping.

V10 redlines at 6000 rpm, you can run all day at 4500 with no damage, just annoying to the occupants. The computer won't let it go much past 5500 pre 2016 and on 2016 and up it won't go much past 4200 on the gas due to the dyno certification changes. I can only get mine to 4750 on the downhills, but again the computer won't let anything bad happen it will shift and limit power long before it exceeds safe limits.
