2017 Sunstar LX video switch cabinet latch broken

Above the door is a cabinet with a drop-down door. This is where the satellite hookup and video switching panel are located. When we purchased the MH earlier this year, the door did not close all the way, but it did stay shut. However, now the door will not latch and I cannot figure out how to fix it.

I have already bashed my head on it a few times and nearly knocked myself out. I have searched and searched and cannot find any information on this cabinet, or more specifically, the latch that should keep it shut.

Has anyone else encountered issues with this? If so, what did you do to fix it?

It is a little catch that engages when the door is closed. Sometimes they snap shut when the door is open, then the door won't close. Check it out - you can pry the catch lever open again so it will accept the door.

Pry out the little lever on the cabinet - not the part on the door.

Of course, the whole assembly may just have broken. They commonly break on the door part, though.

Google:

Southco C3-810 Series Passivated Plastic Grabber Catch Side Mount Concealed Push-To-Close Latch with Black Spring, 44N Pullup, Black

Good luck

I looked online at the parts diagrams from Winnie but couldn’t locate that part. I’m sure it’s there, just missing it.

If you don’t have luck with DanHannah’s info, you could try giving these folks a call https://www.lichtsinn.com/ or web inquiry. They are located a mile from the Winnie factory and have a great parts dept. I’ve had good luck with them for similiar parts hunts. Their prices are usually pretty reasonable.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I Googled that latch and unfortunately, that's not the same as what's there. I'd love to replace it with those but I'm afraid that would be a much bigger task than I can handle since there is very limited access to the compartment.

I will check with Lichtsinn and see what they say.
