2020 Winnebago Adventurer 29 b purchase
Hi All, We are looking at a 29b tomorrow, and may put an offer on it. Asking any current owners is there anything we need to look at before buying they had trouble with? We drove a 2022 today, and were ok with handling etc, but the 2020 is almost identical except for gas/propane fridge and over 30k cheaper. Any thoughts from owners about this aspect? We are currently in a Diesel pusher that has aged out, we are aware of the ride/handling difference with the 29b and ok with that. We will pull a 2017 Ford edge, 4400 lbs, with braking system. thanks for any thoughts/input.

Have you considered having it professionally inspected? Could bring out things that you or the current owner don't see. Might be $ well spent.

Check if it has the v10 vs v8 Godzilla.
The 2022 29B has Godzilla. I’m not sure about the 2020.
I agree, get a professional inspection if possible.

Good Morning.. The Ford Triton V10 is rated at 320HP and a towing capacity of 5000 pounds, your toad at 4400 lbs is closing in on the limit. If your planning a lot of mountain driving this may be of consideration.
I currently drive a 2002 HR 32' with the Chevy 8.1 workhorse engine rated at 340 HP towing a 2900 lb Ford Focus and the mountains are a challenge. Not sure of the torque rating of the Triton.

Ford V10 works just fine
I have driven my 2019 Winni Vista 29VE at a gross weight of 18K plus a Jeep Cherokee at 5k (4k plus stuff) 63k miles including to Alaska and over the Rockies on I25 at an altitude of 11k feet. It has the Ford V-10. I have never had a problem going up or down. Although the 11k pass we were going 40mph at the top.
My previous 3500 diesel dually did better but the V-10 does just fine.

The Ford V-10 is proven awesome. I don't think it has tow limit of 5,000 lbs rather the GCWR is 23,000 lbs. I have 2019 Sunstar VE and I tow a 6,000 Lincoln Navigator with zero issues. My loaded weight without tow 16,900 lbs. I replaced my 5,000 lb rated OEM hitch with a Curt hitch that is rated for 10,000 lbs. I can't even feel it back there

We have a 2022 model with the V8 that we purchased new.
We had a sway bar bracket snap, Ford paid for it.
The fans in our rig were replaced with MaxxAir 10 speed fans. You will want to check them to make sure they work. Moisture plays havoc with them.
Check the shower trap to see if it is functional. They are a silicone flapper valve type of trap that do not like plungers.
The pantry (the one between the dinette and the bathroom can be a week spot, but it is easily corrected. If it doesn't have a latch one is easy to install.
Check and see how you would go about filling the tires with air, I installed extensions, it takes a little work.
Check the generator to make sure it works and see if maintenance has been done, filters and oil changes.
Pull the sewage drain cap to see how the sewage valves are working, be careful this can be messy.
Check to make sure the inverter works, replacing it is not that difficult just cost.
If it has the outside kitchen it will have a separate drain pump, you will want to see if it works.
Our refrigerator is compressor cooled, its just okay. Test the one in the rig you are considering purchasing. If its a 3 way refrigerator, good for you.
We recently had our rig aligned and it made a significant difference. The shop bumped the front pressure to 105 psi and suggested a front stabilizer (we have radius rods and the rear trac bar).
One of the issues at the first for us was access to our driveway. Elevations were tight but it works out. Mostly it is the street that we live on with a high crown, on a hill with an up sloping driveway.
Overall its been a good rig. We put about 10K miles per year on it. We considered diesel but our length limit was 32 feet and there just were not rigs out there that were nearly as good as the Winnebago 29. It has plenty of space for us. It's very mobile considering that its a Class A. We travel at speeds between 62 mph and 69 mph. Passing trucks do not bother us. When the trucks are going to parking because of wind will are going there as well, maybe a little before.
Best.

Thanks all for the information. We did purchase the motorhome, no time to get an inspector involved, so we crossed fingers. Coach had little use and overall VG condition and had many suspension upgrades already done, I have koni shocks coming to help the ride some. Only issue that arose is with solar charger. No power to the charge controller from panels, but power passing through the 40 amp push button breaker, so now i am troubleshooting that problem. Anyone have any ideas? TIA

Check the Solar Power at the Controller
See if there is power coming to the controller. I would work backwards from the controller, if there is power at the controller the controller may be defective. We replaced OEM Zamp with a Victron, easy upgrade. It could be a faulty circuit breaker.

Solar power controller
thanks flyer for the suggestions. The zamp controller has powershowing on the battery side cables and displays the battery voltage. no power shows incoming on the solar in bright sun. At the pop out 40 amp breaker for the Solar there is voltage on both sides of the breaker so iy is ok. Also has power at the panels on roof. It is between the pop out breaker and the controller. I believe.

Solar panel issue
After further checking, still no power to controller from S panels. The breaker located at underneath storage beside propane tank labeled Solar is between the controller and batteries, all show same voltage exactly. The Zamp controller recommends a 40 a fuse between panels and controller, so I had hoped that was the breaker i checked, but it was not. I am now looking for a fuse/breaker between solar panels and controller. Anyone know if there is a location for one somewhere else?

We just purchased a 2020 adventurer last fall and took it on our first vac a few weeks ago. I have a laundry list of kiddies i need to address, including suspensuon, but it sounds like you have that corrected. One thing you should check is the stiffness of your side mirrors. Based on inputs from a few guys earlier today i just found that 3 of 4 mirror attach screws on that pass side were fractured. I was able to feel some moving around of the base when i loaded up the bracket by hand. I also have a nasty chirp/creak coming from the front of dash which i have not yet investigated. Good luck

Winnebago Drawings may Help
I believe that there is fuse somewhere in the line. Winnebago has pretty complete drawings on line. Google Winnebago Wiring Diagrams.
They are organized by year, series, and model.
Good luck.
