24 View 24D - Looking for some guidance on a possible purchase

My wife and I are looking to purchase our first class C Winnebago View 24D. Has all the options including leveling jacks and diesel generator with the nice paint. The unit is a new 2023. Been working this deal over the phone a couple of weeks. Was just told via email that I can get this out the door for $145k. Thoughts? Recommendations? What should I know that I’m not thinking about? Started at $156k out the door. Any feedback would be great. Thanks in advance.

The price doesn't sound bad but not knowing what options are included in the purchase its hard to say for sure. Options to consider would be the double pane windows that tilt out and lithium coach batteries. We love the double pane windows, can be left open in the rain and do well in the cold.

Good luck with your new RV, we love 24V model.

If you wait awhile you may do better. According to lots of information on internet prices are falling and its a 2023 so the dealer will want to be rid of it.

Just sold a 2019 Navion 24D. Didn't like it, too small, not enough CCC as we make long trips, sometimes a month at a time. Had HWH leveling jacks installed it which made it sit solid. The first time out, I thought I was on my sailboat at anchor. LOL, They are a nice rig for someone who doesn't need a washer and dryer - we do. Can't carry enough clothes without going to laundromats and at our age we don't like that. But, very easy to drive; like driving an SUV. Quiet, good MPG. Have fun in it.

This is for your information and possible thought provoking. A look at the new Navion/View 24T. These are videos of the proposed prototype.

Dealers may be anxious to sell off current inventory to make room for the new?

Had a 2021 View D

As mentioned above the Cargo carrying capacity is unbelievably low.

Probably ok for a weekend for 2 but for us it just didn't have the ability to carry what we needed for 2 and 3 week trips.

Also did not like the driver interface with the vehicle. The automated systems were frustrating and often seemed to make decisions on their own.

Given the above link about the key fob it would be a cold day at the equator before I would purchase anything from Mercedes.

My wife and I have a 2010 Itasca Navion (same as Winnebago View). We have taken 6 week trips from Florida to New York, Florida to Michigan and Florida to Canada. I have weighed the loaded motorhome and we have never exceeded the weight limit.

The one thing that concerns me about the motorhome you are considering is that it has the HWH leveling jacks installed. I have read that this system adds quite a bit of weight, reducing the already limited CCC. I would check to see what the CCC is with the jacks installed and see if you can live with that.

Good Luck.
