98 Chieftain HWH level sensing unit location?

I had an issue with “The Truckster” last weekend. After I leveled the coach (using my bubble levels I’ve installed) the slide would not extend. The panel showed one arrow (out of level). I think that’s normal, but don’t remember. Anyway, I played with the level, got the arrow to turn off, and the slide operated just fine. Had a similar issue pulling it back in.

So I’m looking through my HWH 200 series manual and there’s a “level sensing unit adjustment” documented. There are 3 screws on springs to adjust. I have no idea where this sensing unit is located. Can anyone tell me where to look for this sensor? How big is it?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,

Brian

the level sensor will not stop the room from extending.
i would look for a bad connection.
unless your sensor has been replaced, your sensor is a round disc about 4 inches in diameter. its round and black. usually screwed to the under floor in the center of the coach. crawl under and look above the drive shaft. there is a bulletin on the hwh website on adjusting level sensors.

Pages 10 & 11 of the Parts Catalog for your coach show the location of the HWH level sensor in the approximate center of the coach as described by azpete above.

Thanks for the great information! I just went out to check the connections at the control panel. Everything looked fine, but I pressed on the connectors and all appears to be working fine now!

I really appreciate this forum and the help I receive here!

Thank you all!

90 percent of all problems on hwh systems are from loose or corroded connections.
