My new 2006 Journey comes with an automatic satellite dish installed. Not the King-Dome. Does anyone know what brand dish Winnebago uses and also can I use my Direct TV receiver from my house with this unit?

I believe your manufacturer would be WINEGARD and yes you can use your DIRECTTV box from home. If you are planning an extended trip (out of your home area) you can apply for special RV area coverage which will give you EAST and WEST coast feeds for ABC, NBC, CBS & FOX

You may have to change the satellite setting up on the roof, mine came preset for DISH, and we just changed it to Direct. Instructions on how to do so are in the manual for the satellite dish. If the dealer doesn't give you the manual, they are available on Winegard's web site.

Even easier and no RV waiver needed and at no additional cost is to call Direct and have your home locals turned off and the locals for your current location turned on. When you call DIrect tell them you want to keep your bill address the same but you want to change your service address.
I have an RV waiver and distant networks for $9 a month and I still have the locals turned on for my location.

Right Tom - I was figuring for traveling and moving around, not going to another stationary location. Always good that there are others out here that think of the different possibilities.
