Hi all. I have a question for you experts. It seems that once I get everything nice and level, and the coach is sitting firmly it lasts for a few hours and then the coach begins the "little earthquake" phenomenon when people move about. Does this mean my jacks are not remaining fully extended? If so, would this likely be a solenoid issue??

bivt, with all jacks up & slides in, check your hydraulic fluid level on the HWH power unit (dipstick is in the cap); adjust if necessary. When you get the coach level with your jacks, then put your slides out. Then you may need to "tweak" the jacks again just a tiny bit... -That being said, after your camp is all set up, take a tape measure and measure the length of the extended chrome piston rod on the jacks you suspect may be leaking down. Write down the measurements and wait 8 hours, or overnight, and remeasure. If they've settled more than 3/16", you've got a leak or a solenoid valve that's not closing. Mine had dirt/contamination in the solenoid valve, not letting the needle fully seat. I called HWH (great service) and they sent me a replacement solenoid valve. Plug-n-play, just unscrew the old one and install the new one. I will say that that it is very unfortunate that HWH does not put a drain plug on their hydraulic reservoir. So the only way to change fluid is via turkey baster or some such gizmo. If you look at the fluid, it's likely you'll find contamination (looks like black paint flecks) in it... I certainly did. I think HWH, and perhaps Winnie, could pay closer attention to the fluid cleanliness in these 'closed' systems. Those little flecks are what cause the needle valves to not fully seat.

Troth, good post, I am into PMing, but how do I look into the bottom of the reservoir,
can I see the bottom witha strong light? Also I was told when I bought the coach that
the solenoids was a troublesome part and it would be a good idea to carry a spare!
Any though onn that?? TENN.VOL.

You can use a flashlight to peer into the reservoir from the filler cap hole; you may see particles hanging around in the fluid (at least that's been my experience). I was told that the Monarch pump unit has an internal 180 micron screen on the intake side, so it "should" keep contaminants from being circulated thru the system... But whatever clogged up my needle valve was apparently already in the system (the lines or the cylinders) and got lodged into the needle/seat. (My LF jack would 'leak down' about 3/8" overnight; -when you think of it, that's not a lot of fluid, but a very teeny pressure leak in the needle seat area). I do not carry a spare solenoid valve, and it's been over a year now since I replaced the bad one. I haven't had any further problems.
If I get the problem again, I will seriously consider cleaning the cartridge stem/needle/seat area myself, rather than replacing the valve. Only because it would take less time and these valves are not "rocket science". All in all, working with HWH was a pretty positive experience. I was sent a new replacement valve next day air; I pulled the old one, replaced it, and tested the new one over a 48 hour period, then returned the bad valve for credit.
