Basement A/C

Need to replace the fan capacitor that is inside the case.

Would like to order one before removing the A/C. Anyone know the specs?
Thanks

Dennis

If you’re referring to the outdoor blower, this is the capacitor you need.

The capacitor is in the control box on the left side of the unit, no need to remove the unit.

Mr Wizard - the capacitor for the outdoor blower motor is attached to the blower housing, the unit must be removed to access it. It’s that way on my early model 6535 series and I’m pretty sure it’s that way on the later 6537/38 series. All other capacitors are accessible via a service panel without dropping the unit.

Now that I think back I believe you are right. I will pass on that Duners instructions, search on this site, on dropping the unit was spot on for me. Only problem I had was that one of the Nuts for the jack screws was loose, and the duct connection on the unit was a PITA.
