Battery Isolation Manager

The Precision Circuit part number 10021-000 for my rig is of course no longer available. Winnebago parts numbers to replace are:

332068-01-000 new style battery isolation manager
332004-01-02B bracket
332005-01-02B bracket

Anyone out there installed these? Looked for a video on line but cant find one.

My rig has a small door on the drivers side with circuit breakers and the BMI is located behind the circuit breakers. I have skills but just wondering if anyone out there can give me a tip or two before I dig into the spaghetti of wires behind the circuit breakers. Honestly I was surprised when I received the parts. The 332004-01-02B bracket is not what I expected to replace.

Anyway, any tips from someone who has replaced these parts would be appreciated.

Thanks

The old BIM and solenoid looked different on my 2015 than what the prior poster showed as the "old" kind. The BIM module was a rectangular box mounted on a plunger in coil contactor. The leads with yellow and red tape are on the Coach-Chassis Contactor that the BIM is on.

I happen to have an actual photo, attached. I also attached the winnebago chasssis electrical box drawing of that area.

The Winnebago diagram seems to be looking from the other side than what you see looking into the box from the outside door of the compartment on the 27N, at least on my 2015. It's like a mirror image - note the wires tape colors going to coach and chassis batteries are opposite in the photo and the drawing and so are the wires on the connectors going to the coach isolation contactor and chassis isolation contactor.

I had this all opened up and studied a few years ago when I decided I needed to understand all the complexity of the coach and chassis disconnect switches with 5 amp inline feed fuses and lockout relays that I saw on the Vista 27N electrical diagram. Once I understood it I put a SPST toggle switch into one of the empty circuit breaker knockouts into the UUG wire that supplies 12 volt power to the Chassis Lockout Relay. It serves as an anti-theft switch.

You use the Chassis Disconnect Switch by the coach entry door to shut off chassis power. Then you open the locked door on the Chassis Electrical Box and throw the switch and relock it. Now you can't start the coach even if you bypass the ignition key. There's no chassis battery power, and the switch to restore chassis battery power by the coach entry door is disabled. You just reverse the process to turn the anti-theft back off.

Randy, that looks pretty much what I have now. Creative lock out! I like that. Over the years I have read most of your posts as you are constantly upgrading your rig. Every time I search for info concerning A Vista lx 27N your posts appear. Thanks for sharing all your upgrades and experiences with your rig. Very Helpful.
