Bedroom slide won’t go out

We have a 2007 Voyage. Slides have been working fine, BUT as I was bringing it in I heard a loud pop on the bedroom slide. Looked outside and could see nothing. Got home from trip and tried to put slide out to access the closet and I heard the motor running but no movement in the slide. It doesn’t go out! Any clues???

Check the shear pin on the gear that drives the slide. On my coach, it is under the bed.

What good is a picture of a closed slide? Nothing looks wrong. Can’t take a pic of the gears under the bed if the slide won’t go out.

How do you get access when the slide is in? When I lift the bed and the little door underneath, all I can see is the carpet and some cables, not the gear as when the slide is out.

Is the slide electric or hydraulic? Can you lift the bed? Can you see the slide mechanism from one of the outside compartment doors?

Just telling us it went in, popped, and won't go out does not give us much to go on.

What does the manual say about manually extending or retracting the slide? You may have to go through the manual process to get it out to fix it

On my 2000 HR I had a problem with the slide coming in crooked. It sheared on pin.

And when you say 2007 Voyage. Can we assume Winnebago Voyage. Or is it a travel trailer.

For future reference, it would be good to put your make model and year in your signature.

On a friends, his would not retract and the pin broke off where the gear went onto the motor shaft. But we need to know what kind of system it is.

On my coach, the motor, gear, and shaft mechanism are all accessible by lifting the bed whether the slide is extended or retracted. So that doesn't help you. You must have another removable panel that allows access to the mechanism, probably from a storage compartment or the engine compartment underneath. If you don't have a manual that shows where this panel is, then someone who is familiar with your unit will need to help.

Slide Fixed

Our bedroom slide is fixed. We took it in to a repair shop and they were able to pry it open. The Acme nut was cracked and broken, as was the mounting bracket. The nut was a $20 part and they had to weld on the mounting bracket since it was no longer available. But Labor was a whopping $625!

Wish we were more handy!
