Black water leak in wet bay

Our 2005 Winnebago Journey WKP32T has a black water leak in the wet bay. There is a fitting in the top of the wet bay (on the inside) that the black water pipe connects to. This is where it’s leaking. I can’t tell what type of connection it is. Anyone familiar with this?

My tanks use rubber couplings with hose clamps at each end

Nomad-

It would help if you could post a picture or two of the problem area. Your coach is old enough that any number of modifications could have been made, and advice given should reflect them.

No mods have been done. Not able to send a picture at this time.
Thanks

Treetop, WBGO is famous for using a single hose clamp to 'secure' the hose between the inlet pipe and the tank, placed right at the joint (seen this multiple times). Simply add a 2nd hose clamp so that there's one on the tank stub and one on the pipe and you're problem should be solved. Now, getting to the joint may be easier said than done!

Hi
All the black PVC pipes are Glued fittings and as previously mentioned if your lucky enough that the leak is at the rubber connector then as also mentioned tighten and add a second clamp may do the trick if the rubber boot has a hole in it then Lowes or Home Depot/hardware stores should have a replacement.
Good Luck
Onebrit.

Unfortunately there is no clamp or rubber fitting at that spot. The 3” black hard plastic pipe connects to some type of white colored fitting that comes down into the top of the wet bay.

Could they have forgotten to install a clamp?

My 2000 Adventurer had the same problem. The white collar was deteriorated and leaking. I removed the toilet and the riser, then pulled the pipe out of the tank, replaced the grommet with a black one that I got at my RV dealer. I then installed the new grommet in the tank and used some dish soap to lube the pipe and grommet and reinstalled the riser and pipe. Easy fix and no more leaks.

There are no clamps. The white grommet was not as good as the black ones and I was told they were a problem with age. Wore out like all of us.

I have a different set up as the toilet is on the passenger side. It’s piped horizontally over to the black tank. Then from the black tank outlet it comes through the top or ceiling with the white colored fitting. The 3” black plastic waste line connects at that point with no rubber connector or clamps. It would seem that it has to be glued or it’s threaded but I can’t tell from looks up in the wet bay at it.

Wow. You do have a problem. I guess I was lucky as my toilet dumped straight down to the tank. The white colored fitting is a donut type grommet that goes in the tank and the pipe just slips inside of it. My grommet was totally deteriorated and came out in pieces. The parts man at the rv dealer said that Winnie changed to the black ones in later years because of it. You will have to replace it one way or another. My tank got full and didn't know it and the "stuff" was running out the side door on the bay. I don't know how you would get to it other than to cut a hole in the floor above it. Other than that I don't know what to tell you.

My problem is on the outlet side of the black tank so there shouldn’t be a need to access the tank from the top.

Ok. So now what I am figuring is that the black tank is above your wet bay and the outlet in the black tank is leaking. You mentioned the white piece on top so evidently it is not leaking? Mine is a gasser so the outlet is part of the tank. I guess I don't know what your problem is for sure. I had understood the inlet on top was leaking.
