Looks like I've got a defective coax cable from my roof mounted Winegard crank up dish and the receiver. I've bypassed it with a temporary cable through the window and the signal/picture looks fine. I've been looking at how to replace the cable and it looks like an impossible task given the odd route the cable takes. Anybody have any experience with this?? Maybe I'll just drill a new hole in the roof (inside the cabinet) and run the new coax. I hate to drill a new hole in the roof but it seems to be the best alternative.
Any input??

Contact Winnebago Owner Relations. They can give you some ideas towards replacing that cable. Make sure that you tell them that you have a 99 Journey.

Good suggestion to talk with Owner Relations.
I had my OEM dish replaced last April, and watched the process, then helped get the new cable through the roof into the overhead cabinets. It came through a new hole as the old hole was covered by the new dish mount. If you can get to the original cable on the roof (probably requires removing a plastic cover, but may also be under the dish so may not be accessible) I would join the new cable to the end of the old cable with a normal coax connector, and attempt to pull the new cable through from inside the coach.

Good Ideas...thanks. I've found the problem with the cable. On the roof, I removed some caulking where the cable enters the roof and wiggled the cable and it separated just below the roof line. Looks like there's a connector below the roof and the cable was very corroded at that connector. Now I think I need to remove the screws that hold the dish plate to the fiberglass roof and remove the dish. Looks like I might be able to get to that connector with the dish off. I'm hopeful I can connect a new cable to the lnb and seal and reinstall everything.
Any experience with this process you'd like to share? If this doesn't work, it's drill a new hole somewhere.....ugh!!
Thanks,
DanS

On my 33' Suncruiser I installed a KVH L3 dome. I thought I could use the existing coax as a pull-wire to pull the new coax and data cables through but no such luck. The OEM coax was fastened to the roof crossmember. Also, when I tried to fish a new one through the roof by dropping a light, it didn't work. The crossmember blocked my access. I then went over the roof and then down through it closer to the front TV area.
