I have been following Steehead's post with his chassis battery.
I learned about Trik-L-Start from this. I had no idea that a maintenance charger existed like this. Thought you had to have an elect. source for any charger.
I have allready ordered a 9W Colman solar panel I planned to connect to the chassis batteries.
My plan now is to install the trik L Start, then place the solar panel on the roof, connected to the chassis batteries.
I will have to remove the solar panel when I plan on using the coach.
I will have the standard 10W Winnabago solar panel for the house batteries. Trik L Start, and a 9W solar to the chassis batteries.
My feeble electrical knowledge says this should work just fine. I would appreciate your input.
My coach is stored outside in sunny So. Calif. at a storage facility with no elect. hook-ups.
thanks

Thank you FrankO. I did mean W instead of V.
I do indeed mean this as a maintainer system and do not expect it to charge a low battery.

I think you mean Watts(W) and not Volts(V). The chassis battery will get all it needs from the Trik-L-Start via the Coach batteries. Neither Solar panel is enough to bring your batteries back from near dead but are adequate maintainers. I would run the additional Solar Panel lead to the same input as your current Solar Panel goes and you will have a sum of wattages (2 Solar Panel outputs) going to the Coach batteries. Then the Trik-L-Start will feed the Chassis battery so long as your Coach battery is charged. Good system as long as you think of it as a maintainer and not a high power source to bring your batteries back from the dead. You will read on this Forum where many folks have added multiple 150-200 watt panels which can be used be keep the batteries up to full charge after being drawn down at night. Most use an Inverter to power TVs, Lights and Microwaves.
Good Luck.

Thank you. Good information for me, too.

I store inside and we are currently wiring up a shoreline plug. So, if I understand correctly, if I get a Trik-L-Start the chassis battery will be charged when plugged in, too, and that is a good thing during periods of non use.

That is correct RockHouse. Trik=L=Start is a good investment - worry free for me.

http://www.bestconverter.com/Ultra-T...c_124-1-0.html

For those interested I just ordered the Trik-L-Start from Best Converter RV supplies for $ 48.95 which includes shipping.
I 1st had a question for them via e-mail and it was answered within 20 minutes.
They seem like a good place to do business with.
My solar charger should arrive today.
I now hope to have no worries about keeping the chassis batteries charged.
