Check Engine Light

The check engine light has started coming on when we do a long pull up a steep hill. The engine temp will go up a little past have way. When you go through the engine reading everything looks good but you get no turbo pressure reading. Seams to be running just fine.

If you shut the engine of for a while and start back up it clears the check engine like and you get the turbo boost reading. If you get into another long had pull the check engine light will come back on and no turbo boost reading. Shut the engine off and it will clear the light when you restart and you get turbo boost reading.

Will not be back to our home mechanic till April and 1300 miles.

Replace the fuel filters if not done recently.

Identical problem. Was water in the fuel. Take a clear cup and drain the filter until you see water fuel separation in the cup. Water will be on the bottom. Refill the filter by cycling your key off and on for a second or two half dozen times to refill the filter and prevent air in your fuel line. That should clear it. If so, as twinboat suggested, replace filters as soon as possible.

I kept getting a code (E-450, 2006) Fuel Pressure Regulator Sensor. Changed the sensor, helped for a while. Got it again, changed the Fuel Filter, that did real good. But then on our last day visiting family in Dickinson, ND (back in May 2023), as I left I got it again. Took it by B-I-L on our way out (Belfield), he has a mechanic shop. He checked it all, cleared the code and got to talking about what it might be. He mentioned water in the fuel. Well, when we got into town in Dickinson, I filled the RV very full and it was a very rainy time doing this. Anyway he cleared the code and so far, we have not had a recurrence of the code.
