Close it up and use an air lance from underneath. Anything else is just asking for trouble.

I like the "dry clean" method of Chris Fix and have cleaned my 8.1 a couple times :

Woow, that looks awesome... I use to power wash my car engine but haven't done it on this RV.

Thanks, I follow most of Fix's technique, and I find that disposable cleaning wipes from Armor All or OxiClean are very helpful. And it is a lot of time spent hunched over that doghouse hole.

It looks like you have the same Winnebago model as Kevin Caudill, who has a lot of videos on Youtube. That provides a lot more access to the engine than my Damon. To obtain as much access as you, I need to remove my raised doghouse frame and then another component on the front of the opening

Yes I have more access to all part of the engine than yours. Thanks for hints and suggestions. I see lot of time sitting and cleaning and whipping it down. Wasn't sure using a power wash.. don't want to cause and issues... Thanks again..[emoji106][emoji106]

If you do get it as clean as pictured above, will you put a clear cover on the doghouse, so others can enjoy your work ?

Try tire shine spray. We use this stuff on the ORVs and even after years of abuse, they still look new. We never use pressure washers, just the garden hose pressure to knock most of the dirt off then the tire spray, just wipe off any extra. Worked at a car dealer in my youth and we used a kerosene and wd40 mixture to clean engines before they went to the used car lot. The higher end ones usually got a quick spray of gloss clear once they were cleaned.

That's a great idea, just like the new rear engine Corvette

I think pressure washing is a bad idea. As others have mentioned, blow the dust off and wipe it down. I can't think of a reason you would need to do any more.

That's what I thought. Lot easier just whipping it down. Tried part of it and it's only dust...

Now we want to see it with the clear cover on and little blue lights all round the edge underneath.
