Coffee Pot Brackets Removal?

The factory installed coffee pot no longer works. I can not for the life me figure out how to remove the brackets. Can’t get a wrench pliers anything to grab the square nuts. The top of the bolts are hidden in a false space and I can’t see how to remove the self. Sledge hammer won’t work..
