My compass is wacked. Called my service guy, who told me to find a spot and drive in circles three times within 60 min, while setting the control button. I found two spots at two different locations to do this. (these are not easy to find with the turning ratio that I have) The first one did nothing. The second time it worked for a while. How do you fix this unit? Or do you replace it and drive in circles again to get the new unit adjusted??? HELP!

That is what you do. Go to a big parking lot early or late when no one is there. Drive in a circle 3 times and push the reset button. It worked for me.

Confusious says: He who goes in circles shall be known as big wheels.

If you wait until winter you can spin donuts in the snow. That way your turning radius will be reduced.

These guys are good and have helped me on more than one ocassion, but they have a strange sense of humor.
There is a bit more to it than stated. The instructions are in your Operators Manual. In case you don't have a manual:
First, go to a large, empty parking lot, then:
1. Press and hold Mode button until "Zone" and "Cal" appear.
2. Press the F/C button to increment the zone value. Salem. Oregon is zone 21.
3.Press the Mode button to store the zone value.
4. The unit now displays the word "Cal". Press the F/C button to enter the calibration mode. The display will begin counting down from 60 seconds and the word Cal will flash.During this 60 seconds the driver should drive in a circle. If the Calibration is successful, the unit will display CAL for 5 seconds and then return to normal operation. If it is not successful. the CAL will flash continously. If this happens, repeat the process.
We travel around the USA and I have had to repeat this a couple of times. According to the manual, you need to update the zone as you move about the US, but not the calibration unless the compass quits working.
Hope this helps.
