dash lights flicker

I have a 02 Winnebago Ultimate Adventure. Recently I have noticed the light panel (illuminates the wording around the switches) on the dash will flicker. The lights in the gauges are steady.

I have checked the grounds and wiring under the instrument panel with no obvious problem found. I am thinking either the dimmer switch (when I jiggle the handle it improves, however there is effect on the gauge lights. The other option would be the actual light panel control. But what is the chance that both left and right light panels would be bad...

Any suggestions or tips on testing these panels?

I believe that you may have found the problem I would pursue replacing the dimer switch and assuring a good ground.

You may also want to find the fuse, remove it and resocket it a couple of times.

That would be an Ultimate ADVANTAGE I presume ? w/Spartan chassis I believe? A bit of flicker/pulsating seems to be the nature of these dashes. Mine is pretty subtle, and is more if I have the lights dimmed a bit. As you found, playing w\the dimmer knob may find a level where it isn't much. I believe some owners with severe flicker had the dash or major components replaced. I so seldom drive at night that I haven't noticed how mine currently acts.

I'm not familiar with your coach but if the "dimmer switch" you refer to is a rotating knob it is probably connected to a rheostat. The contacts get dirty / oxidize over time. Try turning the rheostat back and forth through it's full range rapidly about 10 times. In my experience, this will often return a poorly functioning dimmer to normal operation.
