Here's a question for my Fellow RV users.
I usually don't take my Motorhome to RV Dealers as I do most of my own repairs and service work. However, I decided to contact our local RV dealer and ordered a new awning due to current Covid/ shipping delays it took over 6 months for the Awning to arrive at the dealership, after I had called them if it was in, yet they finally said yes and gave me an appointment to have it installed. Dropped off my coach the day before, unhooked my toad and drove home. After a few days had passed I called again to see if it was ready for pick up, only to be told they had removed my Awning and needed me to pick up the motorhome as the awning they ordered was incorrect size. Not happy but complied, waited several more months called again to see if my Awning was in yet, they said yes, now I called in early April and was told the earliest they could install was May 15th not happy, but I made the appointment day took the motorhome back the day before so they could install on the 15th as I thought, well the following day on the 16th figuring a couple of guys could probably do the job in two to three hrs. I gave them another call left several messages no call back finally called again and talked to the service Manager and asked when my coach would be ready for pick up, only to be told that they haven't started on it yet I was a little agitated at this point had to listen to the Service managers excuses and he then said it's on a first come first serve basis and couldn't say when my coach would be ready, I argued why in the world would you give me a specific appointment date if you had no intention of doing the job on that day or at least the day after !! so here I am 5 day's now no phone call from Dealer.
Long story I know, so if your still awake here's my question.
Am I being unreasonable or is this considered normal RV business practice?
Reason I stay away from RV dealers, interested in your views.
Kindest Regards
