I've just had all three coach batteries replaced for the second time on my 5 month old coach. The tech at the dealer told me that they have just been told by Dimentions that the inverter setting which controls how much amperage is routed to the charger when connected to shore power must be set to 5 amps to avoid cooking the batteries! I believe the default setting is 25 amps but he said they have learned that at that setting as much as 95 amps can go to the batteries and cook them!

I'm not technical enough to know if this is BS or not but I do have six dead little batteries and thought I would pass it along. At the same time I brought my coach in for this problem there was a Vectra in there for the same thing.

Rick - do a forum search on Dimensions and batteries. This problem has been kicked around for a couple of years.

There have been some that have had problems, but there are thousands that work fine, including mine. If operating properly, including proper switch set-up, there should be no problem. I routinely see 100A+ on my batteries when they're down, but that rate drops very fast as the batteries catch up. If you're boiling batteries you clearly have a defective unit.

Better call Demented, their warranty is either 90 days or 1 year. We had a bad one , cost us about $700 plus new batteries.$481 for rebuild, shipping, and install
