We recently had our coach catch fire in the engine area while driving. We both got out with no problems. However, the coach is totaled even though the fire was confined to the engine and drivers area. Our "replacement coverage" we are told does not cover the attachments to the coach since we did not specifically list them..

The attachments mainly were:
Banks system
Window awnings
Satelitte antenna system

Check your coverage as the items not covered can amount to a fair amount.

We are now coachless, smarter and looking!

Dsouthw524, sorry to hear of the misfortune. What caused the engine fire? I assume the "baby" fire extinguishers we get with our coaches are pretty much useless, right?

.....remember to deduct the cost of the items lost in the fire on your income taxes for this year and file a fire/police report on those items....be very percise and you will not have a problem....geofkaye

The insurance company had a fire investigator try to determine the cause. Their conclusion was that "something on the left front of the engine". In truth it was very hard to tell as everything in the area was smoked!

For this fire, we used two of our extinguishers and at least 6 more brought to us by truckers and others. We ran out of extinguishers at the time the Fire department showed up and saved the day.
