Door awning not working

Howdy all. I have an 06 Tour. My door awning recently quit working. Now when I push the button I just get a clicking sound. I've checked the fuses and all are good. Can anyone provide some possible insite?

The clicking noise is coming from the awning it self like it is trying to open. I think it is towards the front end of the awning. but not exactly sure.

Sounds to me that the aluminum extrusion that is inside the roller that the motor is attached to has rounded out the drive hole in the extrusion.....Utube has videos showing awning motor replacement, your'se just being on a smaller scale....

They can be a real pain to work on and you need to be careful if they unfurl they can toss you off a ladder.

Guessing at your awning model here. The end cap towards the rear comes off and then motor assembly comes out after removing some screws.

You may have to remove the motor end cap to let the thing unfurl. Once it is extended you will find a couple of fasteners holding the whole assembly in place. After removal you lift up on the partially extended awning and slide it forward to allow room for the motor to be removed completely.

I have replaced several motors and may have finally identified the real culprit on mine after many years. If you do not find something physically wrong with the end of the motor be sure to measure the voltage getting to it.

The motor is a real engineering genius critter. It has built in limit switches and must be adjusted properly once replaced. The new motor came with a nice plastic tool for mine. An ordinary allen tool will work though.
