Hi
Well, it sounds like you may have put you're self on the road to a fix at least I hope so. Interested to know what the mechanic finds, it sure sounds like a ground issue or a common feed connection breaking down when a load is put on it.
These things are especially hard for us guys that don't work on these low voltage issues every day they can drive even the best crazy at times.
Good Luck

Could it be in the headlight switch?

Just an update on my electrical problem. Happy to report that all problems have been corrected and I'm a happy dude. Finally found a local garage that actually works on Rvs and knows what they are doing. In two hours they found the electrical problem (a broken wire), flushed and refilled the braking system and checked the condition of the engine coolant. The best part is that I've found a local reliable repair facility. I've always done my own repairs whenever possible and hope to continue to do so, but anything beyond my capabilities will be brought to my new found friends.

Thanks for the update. A competent and efficient shop is a real value these days, glad you are through this nightmare.

Happy to hear you got a fix, and in a reasonably short time. Broken wires can be tough to find. If a mechanic knows the circuitry, he can jump out each section and confirm a broken wire fairly quickly. A wire to wire short can cause all sorts of crazy happenings and happens when wires in a bundle flex and rub together so now at least you have backup you can trust should your own trouble shooting fail.
Happy Camping and Wishing you a Happy and safe New Year.
Thanks for posting your fix.
