Entry door weather stripping

My entry door weather stripping is coming apart and needs to be replaced.

Has anybody done this? What did you use? How well did it work out?

There are any number of self adhesive weather stripping available of I could try to order that factory part.

Insights and experience welcome

Contact Lichtsinn RV, they are the largest Winnebago part supplier other than the factory, which is across the street and a mile away.

I am only 100 miles away from the factory. Lichtsinn claims to be the biggest Winnebago dealer and have the most parts. Last time I was at Winnebago for service I saw their parts truck 4 times picking up parts. So yeah, when you have the factory inventory 1 mile away stuff is pretty easy to get. But they are great to deal with and know their Winnebagos.

What I have done frequently is go to the Winnebago factory site. The parts catalog. Search and find the part, then google the part number. Usually, there is a match.

As for self adhesive weather stripping. The main thing to remember the best weather stripping is only as good as the surface you are applying it to. A clean, rust-free, and nice smooth painted surface is the key.

If your old weather stripping is still in good shape, you can refasten it. But again. Both the weather stripping and the surface must be perfect. 3M makes a 2 sided molding tape that is pretty awesome. Body shops use it to reattach side moldings on cars. But again, it needs to be absolutely clean and there is a primer to put on plastic and rubber before the tape. I also am a little on the overkill side so I will put about an inch of 3M rubber and molding adhesive on each end of a piece to keep the ends tight.

Thanks for the replies. I am aware of Lichstinn and steelrubber already. I was looking for folks who had actually done this to get feedback on their experiences.

My rubber for the entry door is totally trashed and the felt for the screen door is pretty beat up. I will replace both.

What was good 20 years ago might not be as good now, that is why I am exploring options other than original.
