ERA70A Flex Bed

I was just wondering if anyone has this model and if they like the flex bed. What do you do to make it up at night? I have to admit that the walk around queen in the Aspect that I traded in was really nice. I love the ERA but the bed is a bit of a challenge. Queen sheets do not stay on very well and keeping it made up makes getting to the storage a big challenge. What I came up with is opening up a sleeping bag, throwing a flat sheet on top and a blanket for cover. I take it apart each morning.

Any other creative ways to use this bed?

I leave the bed "made" all of the time, partly because I bought a 2" thick queen size gel/foam mattress from Costco to set on top of the cushions. On the plus side it is extremely comfortable, on the negative side it's as you say, hard to reach the storage without kneeling on the bed. However, I travel with 4 little ankle biters and my girlfriend, the dogs love to lie back there and it's handy for her to take a nap or relax with it always ready to go.

Thanks for the info, Bob. Did you have to cut it to size or did if fit the space exactly? Does the fitted sheet stay on? I tried a queen mattress topper and it wouldn't stay on. Thus the sleeping bag thrown on top with a flat sheet idea. I would be tempted to do the 2' foam if it didn't have to be cut and the fitted sheet would stay in place.

So I had a queen size alternate down filled mattress topper and it fit OK. It is 4 inches short on each side but the length tucked under. I'm going to try sheets again. I tried all this when I first got it but now that I have a little more experience with the flex bed(putting the piece in correctly), it may work. Now if all of this works, I will just have to figure out how to get to my rear storage with my bike on the rack. Always a challenge, but so worth it with this RV. And I'm small enough to get to the drawer under the bed on my stomach. LOL

I just checked Costco (sku 816226) online, the mattress pad is actually 3" thick and is a queen size NovaForm selling for around $139. It's about 4" short on each side and about 4" inches too long. I didn't cut it down, I just let it scrunch up a little on the end. I actually kind of like it as it acts as a mini headboard. The only downside is it's a little "heavy" just to roll out of the way which is part of the reason I leave it made up. I use a king size flat sheet to tuck way under the mattress on the edges so it doesn't pull out. Added a king size comforter and lots of throw pillows too!

Thanks, Bob. I looked up those mattress pads and ruled them out for now because I will need to get to the back storage from inside when my bike rack is on. My set up and I think it will be quite comfy is a fluffy queen mattress cover, king sheets, queen comforter and as you said lots of pillows. I will be going to a weekend horse show in a few weeks and will let y'all know how it works. Some of you may think this is stupid but, I really miss the bed from the Aspect and have been trying to figure out a way to recreate a more comfortable sleeping area for the ERA. I know my GSD is going to love this setup, since there is literally no floor space for him to sprawl out. LOL
