Evans Tempcon Dash Blower Motor Screeching

I have a 2012, F53 chassis, Winnebago gas MH.

I have a Evans Tempcon Air Distribution system. The dash air and heat work fine.

However, when I turn the selector knob on the dash to—vent or dash AC—after about 30 minutes to an hour or so there’s a screeching noise coming out on the passenger side near the floor vent as seen in attached pic. I’m 99.9% sure it’s the blower motor making this noise. I need to get access to service the motor.

Using a mirror, I can see the blower motor up under that small carpeted panel with the vent on it, but I can’t see how to remove that carpeted panel. That carpeted panel IS NOT part of....or attached to....the tan upper plastic part of the dash.

In addition to how to remove this carpeted panel, any tips on servicing, cleaning and lubing this blower motor are welcome.

TIA

Hmmm, those AC components are not Ford supplied. Being this is a Winnie product and the AC is Winnie installed you may have better luck in that forum. A lot more specific experience there on this issue IMO. You can ask an admin/moderator to move the post to that forum. In that forum they would also probably have more experience in getting behind the carpeted fascia.
It might be the air diverter hitting something?

On my RV, that panel is screwed in place with 2 screws each side that are buried within the carpet. (As luck has it, I removed that panel just today while troubleshooting my dash AC).

Can you grab the top of the panel and give a slight tug and see if the panel flexes and has a solid attachment that would point you to a hidden screw? Once I realized it was screwed on, I used a screwdriver tip to tap along the edges thru the carpet till I heard the metal to metal sound.

I had this happen on my 2002 Workhorse chassis coach with Evans Tempcon air conditioner, I replaced the blower motor with this one (note I had to transplant the old blower wheel as they were different lengths), blower motor and shaft length were identical, only difference was size of the nut on the shaft. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IZ3IE2/ I don't know if yours is the same, but it is a starting point.

I would use a strong magnet and run it down the sides of panel.. that will tell you where the screws are hidden.. you are in the right spot.. once panel is out.. take cellphone with flash on and record all the wires and on top of hvac box.. up there you will find all of the actuators and they usually need cleaning and lubes up.. when you pull motor.. use cellphone with flash on and record inside the box and far left and right.. critters love to nest in there.. vac out any trash.. and clean resistor pack.. trash can get caught in there.. remember critters dropping can be toxic.. so use all safety precautions.. good ventilation and mask.. and hepa filter..
Double check all actuators work smoothly.. oh.. while blower is out.. there is a blend door in there.. check seal or gasket and lubes hinges.. usually none of this gets done..
Good luck and keep us posted
