We are in the process of purchasing a 2004 Vectra. Of course, the dealer is pushing the Good Sam extended warranty for it, saying that this coach "has a lot of systems on it". From what they say, the Good Sam warranty is only honored at authorized Good Sam repair shops. We currently have Coach Net thru WIT. Does anyone know if there would be problems getting Coach Net to tow to a Good Sam repair shop if it is not the closest shop? Or, if the extended warranty & Coach Net are compatable?
Also, what do you fine folks have to say with regard to the '04 Vectra 40QD?
Thanks,
Joy

We don't do extended warranties. Many folks are comfortable with this type of insurance (extended warranties are nothing but insurance - pure and simple), but we would rather keep our money working for us in our investments.
We have only heard good things about Coach Net and have renewed for the second year. We weren't thrilled when our Jeep broke down last May and we called Coach Net on the cell phone only to go into the caller queue. Gave up after 10 minutes and called Chrysler's road service - got a human quicker there.
The 2004 Vectra/Horizon had some teething problems since it was the first model year with a completely new chassis. These issues were actively fixed on the production line as the problems were identified.
One major problem were sidewall cracks at the corners of the slide openings due to frame flexing. Stiffeners were added to the frame for those who had this problem.
If the coach checks out okay, it should be fine! We just love ours which is the same chassis with a different floor plan.

Thanks to both of you for your replies.
John, how do we go about checking to be sure that this coach doesn't have those sidewall/slide problems?
Luckily we have never had to use Coach Net for our coach, but have had good luck with them for our cars.
Thanks, Joy

TJM,
The contracts I have seen from Good Sam say you can go to any service center. We just ordered a new Vectra ; you gotta love em.

We bought Coach Net when we purchased our used Journey.
We have already had to use them once and it was great. We did not like the high cost of Good Sam when Coach Net was less expensive.
Dealer liked working with them too with the repairs that had to be done.
Good luck.
