While installing my new high dollar Koni shocks, I noticed that my front springs had been hitting the frame crossbar, making indentations, two on each side 3/8" to 1/2" deep into the crossbar and warping the sides. The crossbar is just behind the front wheels and fastens to the bottom of the front Kwikee Jacks bracket. The crossbar is Workhorse OEM and is removed and reinstalled on the Kwikee jack bracket, lower than its OEM location. As the spring compresses it slams into the crossbar and I can't imagine my 2005 Voyage V33 Workhorse chassis is the only one like this. Take a look at your crossbar. I now understand why I was having such hard hits and the dash was banging over bumps. With the moorhome setting normal, my front springs are just 1.25" under the crossbar.

The springs hitting the crossbar doesn't sound good, or normal. Have you tried calling HWH and telling them about the interference issue. As you say, I'm sure others have the issue so perhaps HWH has come up with an alternative way to remount the crossbar.

The jacks are not HWH. The jacks are Kwikee installed by Winnebago when they made the motorhome.

My brain must have been sleeping. I missed that you said they were Kwikee in the original post. Have you spoken with Winnebago about the issue. Very possible others are having the issue as well.

No, I just found it yesterday when I installed my new shocks. I think everbody shoud check thir crossbar and see if has been hitting the sping. It's probly only related to the M/Hs with KwiKee Jaacks.
