Gas , shock / Spring
For the rear, engine grill , of a 2005 Winnebago Journey .
I am in need of a replacement , Gas shock that holds it open .
From what I can read on mine is STABILUS , Lift O Mat.
But I cannot read the number of it ! What I can say is hole to hole extended its 18,1/4 inch
With all the replacements available on the market . There may be a more cost effective replacement than the dealer .
Anyone know of an equivalent replacement , or the original number of the existing one ?

Get a replacement at most any auto parts store, take the old one with you.

I tried 2 auto part stores ..Poor service , they both said they cant cross reference !
J/S , Yours states 17 in extended . Could be the lower mount was a tad higher .
Although , That wont be a problem to re locate . Or it just wont rise as high .
I have found a Winnebago # of , 142569-08-000 . That may cross reference to SG301064
Im in no rush though , Thanks !

I've replaced a lot of struts over the years. If you measure the compressed length and the extended length, you have the hard part. Those are absolutes you need to match to.
On the weight lift, I haven't seen that as a precise thing. If you have a pair, I've compressed the good one on a scale to get a reasonable estimate - then rounded up a little since they degrade over time. Or get someone on the forum to do theirs.
Alternatively, put a scale on a stand and weigh the door lift.
I always add at least 5 lbs. You might have to push a little more to close it, but you also will know it will stay open.

At present . I have checked all options listed . Can not find a proper replacement for the 142569-08-000 . Which I just called Lichtsinn . They confirmed the measurements . And that is what my coach calls for .
Price is in the ball park though I may not be happy with the shipping costs .I will try to find that number on line for now . It seems they used a varity od shocks and as said it wouls just require re locating the lower mount . This may very well be the time to bite the bullet.
Jamin Samin , could you elaborate on black curtain you have covering the back on yours ? Im certain its for storage purposes . I cut a piece of silver window guard to cover the expansion tank on mine

J/S Givin a second look ! This may be the difference between yours and mine .
I may just go with your option , note the holes in lower bracket , that have never been used .

The black curtain is what I use for UV protection when in storage. The rear of my Horizon faces due South both at home and at our snowbird site. I used some 3.5 mil plastic sheet I had to cover the radiator, F/W separator, hoses, wires...I used three magnet hooks to keep positioned. Easy to put up and take down and it folds to the size of a paper plate for storage, the hooks don’t get moved.

The lower bracket on my Horizon is exactly the same as yours. I could move the lower strut mount to the upper unused holes but I saw no need once I had the replacement strut installed. The difference in extended length and how it affected the door opening was not even noticeable.
In addition to the black plastic curtain I fabricated a couple of UV protectors for the plastic surge tank and hydraulic steering fluid reservoir. These stay in position all the time, again “Macgyvered” from stuff I had laying around.

Its a wonder how the election mail in's went !
Hopefully better than this 30 mile delivery .
Fl to NY & back to Fl ! Yup the PO is broken !
As you said J/S not a noticeable difference in the open hight .
Although, It's rather skinny , but does the job just fine .
Thanks
