2014 Winnebago Vista 30T F53 18K Chassis - While changing a damaged headlight assembly, the top bracket (there is a top and bottom) came off. It appears it was glued on with some pretty thick and flexible adhesive to mount it to the inside of the fiberglass front shroud.

I could just try construction adhesive but not sure it is the correct product. Anyone come across this? Any ideas? See photos below. TIA

I know this is probably something that has not happened to anyone. So I did some research and found this as an adhesive. Guess I will give it a try and report back.

I have used the Loctite PL with good results on dissimilar materials but have used 3M 5200 for the same repair (fiberglass to metal) with great success.

5200 comes in both white and black and is a permanent repair.

Thank you Chuckftboy. I went out and bought the Loctite PL (they didn’t have the 3M 5200). I appreciate it. This is my project for the weekend.

For future reference, West Marine stores carry 3M 5200.

Our local Lowes has 3m 5200 in stock. Home Depot also sometimes has it.

Almost any good Marine store should have 3M5200. It is a "permanent" adhesive/sealant and there are other less agressive sealants made by 3M should you wish a removable one. There is a whole line of 3M sealants that are excellent products.

Well Loctite PL 3X is not working well at all. Might be because I did not remove the old adhesive. If I have to remove the old material it may take awhile to get that old stuff off. But I am going to go try the 5200, I just have to order on Amazon, with the price of gas these days, Lowes and Home Depot are 65 miles away.

I agree with the use of 3M 5200. I used it to reattach the "hood" to the brackets that hold it in place. Not the easiest product to use, and a little messy, but it's held now for a couple of years. I expect it to last until I sell my motorhome - 2015 Itasca 33C.

I have used 3M 5200 for this same project. It has been holding for over 3 years, but make sure you use the "quick set" or "fast set," I cant remember the exact term.

Paul was correct. I order the standard 3M 5200. And needed the 5200FC. FC = Fast Cure

Did you have to remove the original adhesive to use this 3M product?

No. But use a wire brush or a 3M pad to scuff up the area all around where you will be adding the 3M 5200. Also read the instructions, it was pointed out to me that it requires 50% humidity to cure. We live Southeast Arizona and we have low humidity. Like 10-20%, if we are lucky. Another member who lives in Tucson came up with a great idea, to use soaked towels and lay them around the area. It worked great but took 3-4 days to cure fully.
