Headlight Protection from UV Ideas…

Hello-

I’m looking for ideas for Headlight Protection from UV. I’ve now replaced my headlights twice due to the sun yellowing them horribly. Not terribly expensive to replace but extremely tough to remove and reinstall. Due to the design of the front cap and minimal gap between the headlight and housing, I can’t cover the headlight with some sort of material and tuck it in.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you - RT

A regular application of 303 Protectant.
UV protection and bugs, etc wash off easy.

I have XPEL film on my Lincoln (including headlights) that I tow behind my motorhome for for chip and sun protection. It's guaranteed for 10 yrs no yellowing, fade or clouding. If I didn't tell you you wouldn't know the entire front of the car is covered with XPEL film. This is my 2nd Lincoln MKZ protected with XPEL for a total of 7 years fulltiming, in the sun everyday and over 50,000 miles towed behind the motorhome. Looks like new.
They sell a variety of protective film including this for headlights:

I saw one kit for Polaris RZR headlights for $18 for protection in the sand dunes.
Here's an instruction video for self-install:

My headlights were terribly yellowed as well so I decided to polish them out then wrap them in Paint Protection Film like the above poster mentioned. I used 3M but there are other brands. I did research and learned that using film gives the longest lasting protection. My headlights are rounded and it was not an easy task, had to remove the front nose of the RV and remove the headlights but the end result was well worth it.
Before and after pics. Last pic is a headlight wrapped in the film, you can't even see it.

Use 303 frequently, and like many do with tires, cover them when parked.
