Help my bottom door lock just stop working you can put the key in and turn it and it sounds like the lock is engaging but when you pull on the handle the door opens. Tried the latch on the inside and the same thing happened. what do I need to do to fix this do I have to get a hole new door setup just a new lock ? is it something I can replace myself and If so where can I get the parts? lucky the top dead bolt is still working so we have on way to lock it but need to get this fixed asap.

Thanks
Mark

On the edge of the door there is a plastic cap that can be popped off revealing an adjustment screw or bolt (My recollection is fuzzy). Anyway you can make small incremental changes that control the latching. Be very careful as you actually can adjust it such the door will not unlatch or even latch when adjusted too much the other direction.

Hint...from experience of being locked out of our motorhome, I now always leave a window unlocked and open when working the entry door!! My wife has photos of me climbing through the window as a reminder of the experience.

I also had the same problem. All the time I thought the door was locked and it wasn't. The adjustment is below the latch on the edge of the door at least on my Outlook. I now check the door for latching once in a while.
