Hot Water Heater Problem Resolved

I think the decision to repair or replace was pretty simple. Does it make any sense to throw money at parts on a 13 year old heater? It was either $150 for a new board or $305 for a complete new unit. I just installed the new one this afternoon

Good for you Binnie, I am thinking you went the right route. Back in business and a brand new unit! Happy travels......

where did you get a new heater so cheaply. I thought they were more expensive than that. What size 6 or 10? gas and electric? Electronic ignition? just curious. I would have put a new one in to at that difference.

I replaced mine with the exact same Atwood unit # G6A-8E that was originally installed. It is 6 gal gas. I got it on ebay from a company called BARGAIN CONVERTERS and ELECTRONICS

If you do a search on ebay for G6A-8E you will see several and prices range from $300 up, you just have to check shipping charges to make sure you are not being gouged there.
