House and Chassis Battery Chargers

I have a memory, probably failing, that Itasca started inclding a Trik-L-Start or some other battery charger system as standard equipment to keep all the batteries charged when plugged in to shore power.

True? False? Just dreaming?

If true, when did it start . . . I am looking at purchasing a 2008 Horizon.

I think that the problem started with the 05 DP's, not sure about the gas rigs.

My 03 Journey was fine but I added the Trik L Start anyway. I installed it on the battery side of the house disconnect.

Winnie started including a Trik L Start on their diesel pushers in 2006, so you're covered on the 2008 model. I have a 2005 Horizon which did not yet include Trik L Start. I added one, which is a fairly easy change to make.

My 2007 Suncruiser did not come with a Trick L Start. I added one for about $50 and that solved my problem.

I have one on my house batteries and another on the chassis battery. I have done this to 3 rigs and they really work well. I do not use Trik L, I use an Exide battery minder with a 13.1 Volt cut off.
