HWH Factory

2002 adventure have a jack that has trouble retracting and have tried the usual fixes ,new spring ,levering up with metal bar but to no avail.Called HWH and was told i was to be put on a call back list from the parts dept.Six weeks later got a call and the operator says do you want the tech dept and i said i wanted parts so she put me back on the call list yet again.Hope it is not another six weeks this time.Tried to get the ram repaired but was told they were not able to do so.The ram is for a 9.5 pressure by thirteen anyone know a replacement cylinder that meets that specs so o can get this over with because ebay has some new one on there. Thanks in advance.

Wow, you could have driven to Iowa and back by now. They are great in person.

We were in Tampa and Lazydays was able to order and receive a 10 year old part ( that had to be manufactured) in less than 2 weeks.

Call back, tell them how long you have been waiting and ask to be put at the top of the list.

Or drive to Moscow, IA.

Have you tried spraying the seal where the ram goes into the jack liberally with WD-40, letting it run down the ram and soak for a while, then try and retracting the jacks, and if they still retract slowly, repeating the procedure again? Unless the ram is bent, this should solve your problem?

My slide was stuck in the out position, inside my barn, which made it impossible to get the rig out of the 12-ft wide entry door. Called HWH to discuss with a technical rep. The operator informed me I would receive a call back. Four weeks later to the date of the original call, the operator called back to ask me if I still needed to talk with a tech rep. I informed her she was a little late in her response and she replied yes it is for weeks since you called. I also informed her I had resolved the matter by using another qualified service.

Besides my bedroom slide stuck in the out position, there was a significant puddle of hydraulic fluid under the location for the HWH control valves. I resolved my problem by calling Stuart's Service in Elkhart, IN, which a fellow WIT club members had passed along to me. Chuck Stuart (owner), over the phone talked me through some tests, which diagnosed the problems. He then sent me necessary parts to repair the problems. I was back in operation for a cost of $112.

I have tried all the usual things with the wd40 etc but to no avail,i could at one time get it back up by using a large prybar and a wooden block. The only way to fully seat it now is a floor jack.Cant get anyone to repair it but there is new ones on ebay but dont know if the are compatable.HWH must have lots of business if it takes 6 weeks to talk to someone.

Give Chuck Stuart Service a call at 574-262-0225, in Elkhart, IN. He has HWH parts, but more importantly he has knowledge on the HWH systems and in my case he helped me diagnose my series 325 HWH system over the phone, for my 2005 Journey with 3-slides. In my case I had a bedroom slide stuck in the out position and none of the jacks would work. Chuck worked with me over the phone during several calls to get the system back operating and furnished the parts I needed.

I had a problem with my front jacks not retracting. I tried a set of heavy springs , but it did not help. I took the jack apart and found a plastic bushing that would bind on the shaft when the jack was together. I carefully sanded down the outside of the bushing until the piston moved freely. It took several attempts to get it rite. Now the jacks work perfect with the old springs and also operate silently. It's not a job for the average person , but a good hydraulic shop should be able to do the job.

The solenoids on HWH systems are prone to failure, and if they fail when the jack is extended they may not release the pressure and allow the jack to retract. There should be a 'wing nut' type of fitting on each solenoid. Try loosening that 'wing nut' to see if the pressure releases and the jack retracts.

thanks, ray
i am available to answer sales, and service questions, as well as assist in parts purchases. i dont sell parts from the factory. just answer questions.
i am a sales rep for southwestern and mountain states.
i am also an volunteer after hours service rep, with hwh's owners permission. not required to answer service calls, but i do, all the time. not just during factory hours, but weekends as well. you know, when you need an answer NOW.
that is my sole purpose for being on this forum. nothing else.
if asked, i do not sell most new parts, but i have access to some reman parts.
i do not have a part for every occasion, but i can help.
i do not solicit part sales, and certainly not service work.
my purpose for being on this forum is to help coach owners that have hwh systems.
by answering their questions, thats all i really want to do.

I got the same kind of response from HWH. Tech will call back in a few weeks. Second the motion to call Stuart's Service. He helped me diagnose and resolve an issue with my jacks. With ignition on, hydraulic pump was "stuck" on. At first it was just intermittent, I was disconnecting the touch pad control to stop it and reconnecting the touch pad when I wanted to put the jacks down. Stuarts Service had the parts I needed to fix the issue (turned out to be the I/O control module bolted to the pump and reservoir assembly) and he was available and provided good advice and troubleshooting over the phone.

You have to wonder how a company can stay in business like that.
