Inverter

We have a 2003 Journey DL with a Freedom 15 I/C that is not working.Im looking at the Freedom XC inverters.I have taken the old one apart down to the battery cables. It appears the battery cables do not disconnect at the inverter. They run to the other side of the coach to the battery compartment.Im thinking just cut them off behind the inverter, put eyelet on each and extend them as needed.Verse trying to get the wire from the other side.I can only see about 10% of the wire going to the other side.

Battery cables have to disconnect. Xantrex doesn't sell inverters with battery cables attached. Too many variables.

I thought the same thing. But if you look up the freedom 15 inverter from heart interface it comes with the DC wires already hooked up inside the inverter.one wire has red heat shrink on one end.http://www.xantrex.com/documents/dis...ner_manual.pdf

Rather than ring terminals and a post you could use something like this.

Here is one source.

Search for splice block 2/0 AWG you will find many sources and configurations.

I changed out my freedom inverter. The cables do disconnect but you have to take the entire inverter apart. They disconnect inside on the board. You will have to drill the holes on the end of the cable a little bit to fit on the new inverter.

This is your inverter. The cables are built in.

Replace this with a true/pure sine wave inverter. The modified sine wave inverters are inefficient and many household devices just don't like to work well on them. Anything with a motor especially.
I am one of the many who like Magnum products. The company support is not what it used to be but the products are still decent. You will have to have cables made up to install the new inverter. You are looking at doing a retrofit project. Pull your batteries and inverter. Install the new cables, batteries and inverter. This is a good time to increase your battery bank size and inverter if you are so inclined. But, that will take a bit more planning and the sacrifice of some space most likely.

Update. Replaced all 3 house batteries. New remote panel. Remote works at inverter but does not work inside. So I need to replace the re.ote wire. I'm sure that's going to be fun.
