Itasca 42qd power question

Hello all. I have a 14 itasca ellipse 42qd. The power cord is a nema 14-50. My old coach required a nema 6-50 witch we have installed on the wall.. they sell an adapter to go from 14-50 4 prong to 6-50 3 prong.. my questions are,
1. What would I be giving up with the adapter?
2. Could I do any damage?

Your 6-50 receptacle is (2) 115 volt legs and a grund which is more suitable for a 230 volt appliance like a welder or air compressor.

Your coach has (2) hot legs, a ground for safety and a neutral. The neutral allows for (2) separate 115 volt circuits to power everything in the coach. Without a neutral, the coach appliances won't work. It is NOT safe to use a hot and ground to provide 115 volts. And yes you could damage the coach and worse, hurt someone.

Thanks for the reply. I have a commercial building. We opened the fuse panel to find all grounds and neutrals are together. There is not a separate neutral buss bar.
