Smile Jensen XRV10 failure

The ASA/Jensen XRV10 radio in my 2019 Adventurer started to emit a loud squeal intermittently. I looked to them for suggestions and all they said was the radio model is discontinued. I contacted customer service at Winnebago and at first, I was told they had never heard of this problem. A few hours later I was contacted again by phone by a customer service person. He said they were aware of the problem with the radio and offered to help. The radio was out of warranty and they had no replacement for it. They had come up with a solution though. I had to purchase a Sony XAV-AX3000 radio from River Park, Inc. in Elkhart, IN ($326.75). Then Winnebago would send me a new dash bezel to match the radio. They also sent all the necessary wiring and camera switching adapter to make the cameras work correctly, all at no charge. I did have to do some wire splicing to get everything to match up correctly and it was a bit of a challenge. I had quite a string of emails going with customer service. The new radio only has a 7-inch screen which is a bit of a bummer but the clarity is much better than the old one. The new radio has lots of bells and whistles, Apple and Android compatible. I can’t say thank you enough to the folks at Winnebago for their excellent help with this.

Good company, good service. Glad it worked out.

Hi Jim, I also have same problem with my jensen in my 2018 sunstar lx. Can you tell me who was winnie customer service rep you spoke to? Jensen was absolutely no help. They said they did not support that product any more. I'll never buy a jensen/Asa product. I'd appreciate any info you can provide. Thanks.

Initially I was contacted by Brian but the majority of my communications were with Tommy. The email I used was customercare@winnebagoind.com A couple of things are different with the new bezel. First of all my old one was black and the new one is a silver/gray color with a decorative pattern in it. I was a little concerned initially but it actually looks fine after it's installed. The new one has spaces for 4 switches which my old one did not. They sent blanks to fill those in. Lastly the cigarette/accessory plug hole is smaller than what my socket is. I had to enlarge it to make mine fit. I would suggest you take pictures of everything behind the dash before you start disconnecting things. There is a lot of crap packed in there. While I had everything out I discovered why my dash was always warm. There was one unused spot on the ventilation distribution box. The blank cover that was supposed to block it off had come off and was laying in the wiring mess.

Thank you so much for info, I have been in touch with Chris. They are exceptionally responsive to addressing this issue. I should have contacted them sooner. who would think the RV mfgr would help as much as they do?
I was told some parts i would have to order from dealer, but harness and camera switcher would be sent from Winnie at no cost. Unreal customer service. Even got a call back, b/c he promised to call next day but he still didn't have all the answers for my situation.
We'll see how it goes, so far I am impressed. Thanks for posting what you did, that sent me in right direction. Taking pics b4 working is a given, its a rats nest of wires in there, and I will check ventilation dist box. Thanks for tips and info
Joe

I also have a 2019 Adventurer with the Jensen radio. That's disappointing to hear there isn't an upgrade (size/quality) to replace the failed Jensen unit. Since you replaced the head you might want to consider putting in some better speakers, which I did, and the sound is MUCH better! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have NO idea what a ASA/JensenXRV/10 radio is nor do I know what a Winnebago Adventurer is but I do know RIVER PARK. They provided the infotainment unit in the dash of my Winnebago Era, a class B motorcoach on a Mercedes 3500 Sprinter chassis. After the warranty expired, I had a problem with the unit. A call to RiverPark resulted in a long discussion while I worked thru their troubleshooting over the phone recommendations. The end result of which was, "we will send you a replacement at no charge, just return your present unit". I had the units exchanged at my expense ($140, as I recall). A couple of years later the same scenario repeated with identical results., except that this unit is still working fine, several years later.
My point is, I think that RiverPark went above and beyond their obligation to render outstanding service. I had seriously considered after the first failure, replacing it with a Kenwood but could not justify the expense in the face of RiverPark's offer.

I have been through a similar experience. We purchased our Sony replacement radio (for more $ than you paid), but now the replacement bezel to hold the 7"unit in place, is on back order. I talked to the parts department to get a part # and search for new or used parts online. The part # provided was #339763, but not vendor provided. Do you happen to know who the manufacturer is for your bezel replacement? Our stereo died the same death as yours, in July 2021 and we are still trying to get all the parts!!

Lindermouse sorry for the delayed response, I didn't see your post until today. Unfortunately I can not tell you who manufactured that part, Winnebago shipped it to me and there wasn't any other information with it. Hopefully by now your problem has been resolved.
