Smile Journey 34H kitchen sink drain hose crimping

We just purchased a 2004 Journey 34H 2 weeks ago. The kitchen sink drain hose has crimped and broken. It slides out with the kitchen/livingroom slide. It is difficult to see in there, let alone trying to repair it. Has anyone had to make this repair? If so, what did you use? The hose is obviously too short to work properly here, so we were thinking of lengthening it a bit, but access is ridiculously tight. I think we should cut out the side of the cabinet under the sink. Does anyone have any advice in this regard? Thank you so much!!

I had the same problem with the same model coach. If you take out the two kitchen drawers it will give you a bit of access. I used a section of swimming pool vacuum hose to replace that hard, stiff factory hose. I got some plastic fittings to get everything attached.

Congrats on your new coach Patty! We're still learning the ropes on our 04 34H too. DH is pretty mechanically inclined and does most of the maintenance and repairs himself. We haven't had any issues with the kitchen sink drain yet "knock on wood"...

Hi Chuck, can you post a picture of your pool hose fix and the damaged area?

Talking 34H kitchen drain hose repair

Was curious if someone had a picture of their repair/resolution. My husband bought high-grade swimming pool vacuum hose and some clamps. We think part of the problem is the flexible PVC pipe is incorrectly installed going off at a slight angle away from where the hose wants to go when the slide opens outward, so we think that exacerbated the situation. We are going to put extra hose to accommodate for this situation. Still curious about anyone's picture of their repair -- thank you so much!!! (I just love my 34H Journey and can't wait to go camping again -- even if I have to wash dishes in the bathroom sink again!!!

The hardest part ot the fix is removing the shelf under the sink so that you can take down the wall that hides the connection from the sink to the flex line. I did use some of the original connector fittings to ease adapting the swimming pool vacuum hose. It is just a matter of going to the hardware store and buying the fittings necessary to accomplish the hook up. I hope the attached pictures offer some help to see how I did it.
